Outstanding leisure facilities
Paignton is very much about enjoying life at the seaside. It’s fine Victorian architecture lends an air to the place, making it somewhere one can really enjoy being in when not on the beach. But at the end of the day it’s wonderful to have the option of relaxing and going nowhere.
One of the many pleasures at Haulfryn’s Paignton is its setting amidst quiet landscaped gardens, and if you don’t feel like heading to the beach, but still want a swim there’s the choice of either a heated indoor pool to enjoy whenever the mood takes you, or a heated outdoor pool, the indoor pool benefiting from windows that stretch right along its length, giving a light and spacious feel.
Outdoors, the youngsters can enjoy the children’s playground and there is an all weather tennis court.
There’s also a great gym to work out in, and there are few things more enjoyable than being able to relax in the steam room, or the sauna if that’s your preference, and to feel the activities of the day just ebb away.
Paignton also offers a solarium, so if you feel your natural tan may need a top up there’s every opportunity to regain that lovely bronzed look.

Eating out
A short walk from your holiday home will take you to The Blagdon Inn, Haulfryn’s very own 15th century bar and restaurant where you can relax under the ancient beams and enjoy excellent beers, interesting wines and a full and varied menu. There’s said to be a ghost at The Blagdon Inn, named John Henry, who apparently hung himself in the nearby Manor House… so keep an eye open for him as you linger over your liqueurs!
